If Yahusha Isn’t Yah Then You Are an Idolater

The identity of Yahusha is critical to the worship and obedience to Yahuah as commanded in Scripture. If Yahusha is not Yahuah, then worshiping Him would violate Yahuah’s commandments, making His followers guilty of idolatry. However, Scripture consistently reveals that Yahusha shares the same essence and spirit as Yahuah, confirming His divinity. Worshiping Yahusha is not idolatry. It is the acknowledgment of the truth that He is Yahuah in the flesh.

Worship Belongs Only to Yahuah

The Commandments Against Idolatry

  1. Exodus 20:3:

"Thou shalt have no other elohim before me."

This foundational commandment explicitly forbids the worship of anyone but Yahuah. To worship anyone else would constitute idolatry.

  2. Isaiah 42:8:

"I am Yahuah: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images."

Yahuah declares that His worship and glory belong solely to Him.

Implications

If Yahusha is not Yahuah, then His acceptance of worship would be sinful, and His followers would also be guilty of breaking Yahuah’s commandments. However, Yahusha is Yahuah, and His acceptance of worship aligns with Yahuah’s commandments.

Yahusha Accepts Worship

Examples of Worship

  1. Matthew 14:33:

"Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of Yahuah."

The disciples worshiped Yahusha after He calmed the storm, acknowledging His divine authority and power.

  2. Matthew 28:9:

"And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Yahusha met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him."

After His resurrection, Yahusha accepted worship from His followers, confirming His divine identity.

  3. John 9:38:

"And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him."

The man healed of blindness worshiped Yahusha, recognizing Him as more than a man, recognizing Him as Yahuah.

  4. John 20:28:

"And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God."

When Yahusha revealed Himself after His resurrection, Thomas directly referred to Him as both Master and Elohim, acknowledging His divinity.

Evidence That Yahusha Is Yahuah

Old Testament Evidence

  1. Isaiah 45:23:

"I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear."

Importance: This passage emphasizes that worship belongs to Yahuah alone. This same language is applied to Yahusha in Philippians 2:10-11, demonstrating that Yahusha’s worship is a direct fulfillment of this declaration:"That at the name of Yahusha every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Yahusha Messiah is Master, to the glory of Yahuah the Father."

  1. Isaiah 9:6:

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Importance: Yahusha is explicitly called "The Mighty God" and "The Everlasting Father" in this prophecy, indicating that He is not merely a human savior but Yahuah Himself manifest in human form.

  1. Exodus 3:14:

"And Yahuah said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you."

Importance: Yahuah reveals His eternal name, "I AM," to Moses. In John 8:58, Yahusha claims this same name for Himself:"Yahusha said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am."

4 . Daniel 7:13-14: "I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed."

Importance: In this vision, the Son of man (a title for Yahusha) is brought before the Ancient of Days (Yahuah). All honor, glory, and worship are given to the Son of man, establishing His divine authority and eternal dominion. This prophecy directly points to Yahusha as the one who receives universal worship, confirming His divinity and role as Yahuah incarnate.

New Testament Evidence

  1. Philippians 2:10-11:

"That at the name of Yahusha every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Yahusha Messiah is Master, to the glory of Yahuah the Father."

Importance: This passage echoes Isaiah 45:23, directly applying the worship due to Yahuah to Yahusha.

  1. John 10:30:

"I and my Father are one."

Importance: Yahusha declares His oneness with Yahuah, affirming their shared essence and spirit.

  1. John 14:10-11:

"Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me."

Importance:

  • Yahusha reveals a unique relationship with Yahuah, described as mutual indwelling: He is in the Father, and the Father is in Him.

  • This relationship is unparalleled and cannot be replicated by created beings. While Yahuah’s Spirit can dwell in mankind (e.g., 1 Corinthians 3:16: "Know ye not that ye are the temple of Yahuah, and that the Spirit of Yahuah dwelleth in you?"), humans cannot dwell within Yahuah.

  • Yahusha’s ability to dwell within Yahuah demonstrates His shared divine essence. This mutual indwelling highlights Yahusha’s role as Yahuah’s perfect manifestation in human form.

  • This truth is foundational to understanding Yahusha’s divinity. It also clarifies that Yahusha’s prayers, teachings, and works were not independent but were directly sourced from Yahuah’s divine authority working through Him.

Revelation 1:8:

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith Yahusha, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."

Importance:

  • Yahusha uses titles exclusive to Yahuah, such as "Alpha and Omega" and "The Almighty," directly claiming divine authority and eternal existence.

  • The title "Alpha and Omega" signifies Yahusha’s role as the eternal Creator and Sovereign over all things—nothing exists apart from Him. By identifying as "The Almighty," Yahusha declares His full deity, leaving no room to consider Him as a mere creation or separate from Yahuah.

Colossians 2:9:

"For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." Importance:

  • This verse affirms that Yahusha fully embodies Yahuah’s nature in a tangible, physical form. He is not partially divine but contains the entirety of the Godhead within Him.

  • By emphasizing "bodily," this verse connects Yahusha’s divine nature with His incarnation, proving that He is both fully human and fully Yahuah.

  • This distinction separates Yahusha from all creation, as no other being can claim to embody the fullness of the Godhead.

Addressing Misunderstandings

Common Objections

1. "Who is sitting at the right hand of the Father?" Response: This language is symbolic, representing Yahusha’s authority and exaltation, not a physical separation.

  • Philippians 2:9-11 demonstrates that Yahusha’s exaltation places Him in the position of divine authority.

2. "If Yahusha prayed to the Father, how can He be Yah?" Response: Yahusha prayed as the incarnate Word, fully human and fully divine. His prayers reflect His role as the mediator between Yah and man.

  • John 1:1, 14 affirms Yahusha’s dual nature as the Word made flesh.

Spiritual Truths

  • Yah is Spirit: "Yahuah is Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." (John 4:24)

  • Yahusha reveals the fullness of Yahuah: "For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." (Colossians 2:9)

  • Mutual indwelling: Yahusha said, "I am in the Father, and the Father in me." (John 14:10-11)

Conclusion

The truth of Yahusha’s divinity is vital to the foundation of worship and obedience to Yahuah. The Scriptures not only affirm Yahusha’s identity as Yahuah but also call upon His followers to guard this truth with diligence. Acts 20:28-31 provides a clear warning and a call to action:

"Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Spirit hath made you overseers, to feed the church of Yahuah, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears."

This passage highlights three critical responsibilities for believers:

  1. Guard the Truth

Believers must protect the truth of Yahusha’s identity as Yahuah. The Messiah Himself purchased the flock with His own blood, making this truth central to salvation and worship. Allowing false doctrines that deny Yahusha’s divinity compromises the foundation of faith and leads others into error.

  2. Beware of Wolves

Paul warns that false teachers and deceivers, referred to as wolves, will arise from both outside and inside the community. Their goal is to distort the truth, leading the flock away from Yahuah’s Word. These wolves often introduce subtle but dangerous lies, such as separating Yahusha from Yahuah, thereby sowing confusion and idolatry.

  3. Vigilance and Care

Believers are commanded to remain watchful and diligent, ensuring that the flock is fed with sound doctrine and protected from spiritual harm. Yahusha’s divinity is not merely a theological detail but the cornerstone of salvation and worship, and it must be preserved at all costs.

The reason we fight for this truth is because it is our responsibility to protect Yahuah’s flock. If Yahusha is denied as Yahuah, His followers are misled into idolatry, violating Yahuah’s commandments and jeopardizing their salvation. Worshiping Yahusha is not idolatry. It is an acknowledgment of the truth that He is Yahuah, one in essence and spirit, ruling over all creation.

"If Yahusha isn’t Yah, then you are an idolater." Yet, the overwhelming evidence in Scripture demonstrates that Yahusha is Yahuah, fully worthy of worship and adoration. As stewards of this truth, we are called to feed, protect, and guide the flock, guarding them from deception and ensuring that Yahuah’s name is glorified in all the earth. This responsibility is not optional but essential for preserving the integrity of faith and leading others into the truth. Yahusha, as Yahuah, is central to salvation, worship, and eternal life. Let us boldly proclaim this truth with clarity and conviction.
